Bunzuke is a WAHM diaper with excellent craftsmanship. She has a shop on Hyena Cart and is now making more boutique style diapers and some are amazing. The diaper that I have is an older model and she has made some changes and, from what I can tell, improvements from the one that I have. The diaper that I have is beautifully made and fits very well. The insert, the Convertabuz 1.0, is an amazing concept. She has also updated this with the Convertabunz 2.0 which looks like nothing short of genius.
First, let me talk about the Convertabunz because I’m so in love with this idea. It’s an insert, it’s a trifold and it’s a fitted all in one. Here is a YouTube video so you can see what I mean. Convertabunz tutorial. This video is for the 2.0, the 1.0 doesn’t have the elastic and is a bit smaller. I was never able to use it as a fitted because my baby was too big when I got this diaper but I’ve heard that I would be able to use the 2.0 in that way. Seriously, how fantastic is that?
The diaper itself is a pocket diaper that is really well made and looks adorable OTB, but this diaper has wicked moisture and leaked a few times. I had the best luck with the Convertabunz on their own in another cover or with the Bunzuke pocket stuffed with a newborn sized prefold.
I have used the Convertabunz along with a doubler as a nighttime diaper and it worked fine. Overall, this isn’t my favorite diaper in my stash. With the improvements that she’s made I might be willing to try another one. She does have a large fan following so she must be doing something right!
This diaper cost me $18.00 with the Convertabunz included. Her diapers have different prices depending on the detail so I can’t give an accurate price of a straight pocket diaper. The Convertabunz 1.0 goes for $8.00 and the 2.0 goes for $15.00.
