It Looks Like We’re Staying!

4X6A3866bYou may recall that in late July we packed up and left Connecticut and moved to Colorado. I have been wanting to leave Connecticut for about 14 years but something always seemed to prevent me from doing so.

Finally the time was right for us to look into relocating. Austin was where we tried to go for two years but a job interview never came along. We weren’t looking in Colorado but a job showed up on LinkedIn so The Husband decided to submit his resume and the rest is history.

Oddly enough, Colorado and Portland, OR were on my list 14 years ago. My mother lived in Boulder for a few years so I knew what to expect. Even though it wasn’t our first choice at the time it has turned out wonderfully! It’s beautiful here, there is a ton to do, the weather is nicer than we thought, it’s almost always sunny, and while the cost of living is higher than in Texas, it’s much lower than in Connecticut. Then again, almost everywhere has a lower cost of living than Connecticut.

Things have been going so well here that we’ve decided to look into buying a house! This will be our first house because we knew we didn’t want to buy in Connecticut and couldn’t afford it anyway. I am so excited about this possibility! Looking on real estate sites and dreaming has been so much fun. I look forward to the next chapter in our lives and putting down real roots somewhere.

  1. Well, we do usually have over 300 days of sunshine a year here in Colorado. I was born here, but I’ve been to all 49 other states and lived in seven others and Colorado is THE BEST! Glad to hear you like my beautiful state. Welcome home!

  2. Welcome to CO! I love it here and I’m not sure I could ever leave…. hope your family enjoys it too!
