Day 1 of My #Shaklee180 Turnaround

I am very excited and feel fortunate to have been chosen to participate in the Shaklee 180 weight loss program with a group of other bloggers. I lost 20 pounds on another program and then life got in the way, I got lazy, and it all came back +5. I can now say that this is the heaviest I have ever been in my life and to be honest, it’s pretty depressing.

I don’t feel like I eat poorly. We hardly eat any processed food at all and make just about everything from scratch. I also don’t feel like I pile food on my plate, but the American vision of a normal portion size is so skewed. The move is where most of the weight happened so in seven shorts months I have ballooned. Ugh.

But now I’m going to take control. I signed a contract so I don’t have a choice! And this just might be what I need to get it off.

I will be posting about my weight loss journey with Shaklee over the next six months with monthly blog posts and YouTube videos. I’m pretty nervous about putting myself out there like that since I tend to be very self-conscious when I’m heavy, but it’ll be a good thing. It’s the ultimate motivator!

Two days ago my first box of products came and I was surprised at how much was in there. This box contains a one month supply of shake mix, meal bars, snack bars, energizing tea, and metabolism booster supplements.

The basics of the program are a shake or meal bar for breakfast with a metabolism booster supplement and some fruit, the same for lunch but with some veggies, a snack or two in between, and sensible dinner. Your actual plan depends on your weight and total calorie allowance.

I am allowed 1500 calories for my weight range so I am allowed the above with two snacks. I need a little time on the plan to work out a rhythm to find out what “real foods” I can eat during the day. That will come in time, sooner rather than later I hope!

Thank you! Accountability really is key and it’s hard to tell yourself that the dryer shrunk your clothes when you have to take photos, videos, and measurements :)
