I have seen and read the Currently posts on A Mama Collective for a long time now and always thought that it was a fun idea to chronicle my weeks. I have meant to join in for a while now but you know, time and stuff. This week I’m doing it and maybe I will actually stick with it! I am full of great intentions but poor follow-through sometimes. Hey, at least I can admit my shortcomings. . .usually.
Anyway, here is what I am Currently up to this week. Now you can find out how truly random I really am.
With the release of the new Chaplin diaper from bumGenius I am left scratching my head at the craziness of limited edition diapers. Don’t get me wrong, this isn’t a new concept to me being a Ragababe fan and all. I just never really got caught up in the drama of diapers. I get my diapers in a stocking and if I don’t, then I move on. I have only ever paid over retail once for a diaper that I was really looking forward to and failed to score in the stocking, but it was just a little over retail. There are people paying hundreds for a diaper. Now that Chaplin is selling out in minutes the claws are coming out once again. On a group I belong to someone posted a picture of someone selling one for $100 and they don’t even have it in hand yet!
Ultimately it doesn’t bother me what other people do with their money. If someone wants to spend $100 or more on a diaper and can afford to then who am I to say what they do with their money? It doesn’t mean that I understand it or am going to partake in it myself. I just don’t get it.
I have always been a reader but over the past couple of years life has gotten in the way and I haven’t been reading as much as I would like. I have made the decision that I’m going to make reading more of a priority so this past weekend I checked out Doctor Sleep by Stephen King from my library. I just started it so the jury is still out. It is the sequel to The Shining and tells us what Danny is up to now that he’s an adult. I love the idea of this since The Shining was and still is one of my favorite books of all time.
This is a hard one to answer since I don’t listen to entire albums at a time very often. I am mostly listening to satellite radio and am addicted to the shuffle setting on my iPhone. Today I grooved to some Clutch on my way home from shopping and cranked it up pretty loud so I’ll choose that. If you haven’t heard them before they are kind of cerebral nerd rock and they amuse me.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. I am a bit on the mature side to be watching a teen drama but it was recommended to me on my Facebook page several times when I asked for some suggestions of shows to
binge on watch. I started watching and now I’m hooked. I’m a sucker for drama and suspense.
Thursday was my birthday. Even though I am at the point where birthdays make me grumble a bit, I am thankful for one more year.
