I am rather fussy about what I feed my cats. Their food must be high in protein, grain-free, and made with high-quality ingredients. When I was given the opportunity to review I and Love and You grain-free cat food, I couldn’t wait to finally try it. I’ve seen it at my local store and several times I’ve almost bought it, but always ended up staying with my usual food since one of my cats is really picky.
This is Pete, my tester for this review. Our other cat will only eat one brand of cat food and it has to be slices in gravy (like I said, picky cat) and the I and Love and You wet food is a pâté style, which is perfectly fine for Pete here.
He is five years old and a new addition to our household. Unfortunately, two weeks after coming to live with us, Pete stopped eating and was diagnosed with a small, malfunctioning liver. He’s fine now, but he is now on medication for the rest of his life and it took him a little while to start eating normally again. Now that all is well, I would love to tell you about our experience with this cat food.
I and Love and You is a natural holistic grain-free cat food that is made with real meat and is free of meat by-products, soy, wheat, corn, fillers, additives, and artificial colors or flavors. It is a great choice for those of us who want only a wholesome food for our pets.
We received a bag of poultry flavored dry food and six cans of wet cat food – Purrky Turkey, Oh My Cod, and Chicken Lickin’ Good.
It took a little time for Pete to get used to the change in dry food. I and Love and You recommends changing their food gradually over ten days, but it did take a little longer than that for him to take to the dry food since he doesn’t eat a lot of dry food normally. My cats get about a half cup of dry food along with a can of wet every day, but Pete always has dry food left at the end of the day. Now he eats the I and Love and You just like he eats the dry food he was previously eating. The wet food, he took to right away. He gobbles it down like it’s going out of style.
Here he is happily chowing down on some Purrky Turkey and loving every bite.
