Are you on GoodReads? Have you ever signed up for their yearly reading challenge? If not, it’s more of a personal goal for yourself instead of a real challenge and last year was the first year that I signed up. Needless to say, I shot a little high in my goal and didn’t make it. This year, I made a more attainable goal of twenty books to read in 2016. That’s a book every two to three weeks so I should be able to make this goal. I will be adding my review of each of these books on my Goodreads account if you’d like to know what I thought about a particular title.
The books on my list aren’t all recent releases. Some are, but some have been sitting on my bookshelf for years that I haven’t read yet since I have a habit of hoarding books, both physical books and e-books. It’s time for me to finally read them and I hope that my list helps you come up with a book or two to read this year beyond the it books of the past year or two.
Finally, after some thought, the twenty books I will be reading in 2016 are…
What Alice Forgot by Liane Moriarty
The Bookseller by Cynthia Swanson
Revival by Stephen King
The Boston Girl by Anita Diamant
Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil by John Berendt
The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah
The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath
NOS4A2 by Joe Hill
Those Red High Heels by Katherine May
The Book Thief by Markus Zusak
Bird Box by Josh Malerman
Finders Keepers by Stephen King
Church of Marvels by Leslie Parry
Sharp Objects by Gillian Flynn
Middlesex by Jeffrey Eugenides
The Replacement by Brenna Yovanoff
Hausfrau by Jill Alexander Essbaum
Heart Shaped Box by Joe Hill
Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen
The Last Anniversary by Liane Moriarty
As of today, I am already on a good pace to meet my goal. I’ve already finished What Alice Forgot and am currently reading The Bookseller.
What are you reading currently, or what books would you like to read this year?
