I wish I could say that I’ve had an exciting week full of adventures but the reality is that I’ve been way too tired! You see, K-Dub has been working on all of his molars for the past few weeks and it’s been a little rough. The two bottom ones are in now but the top two are still working their way out which has made this past week really hard on everyone. None of us have had much sleep and we’re all a little cranky.

>ecoStore Baby Shampoo and Baby Body Wash Review
>
When I was choosing an item from ecoStore’s catalog to review, I recently been made aware of a pretty alarming study that found known or suspected carcinogens, including formaldehyde in several popular bath products for babies and children. As a parent, I surely do not want to expose my children to potentially harmful chemicals. ecoStore’s label is pretty clear when it states that there are “No Nasty Chemicals” in their products or their packaging so my choice of items was pretty easy to make.
EcoStore baby shampoo
My first impression upon using the baby shampoo was that it smelled almost like a Halls cough drop. As I have used it more it smells less like a Halls and has fresh smell. It isn’t an overpowering scent or too perfumy. When I kiss K’s head after his bath I’m not overwhelmed with the smell of perfumes. His hair just smells clean. I don’t like strong scents and prefer that scented products smell more natural, which I think this does.
EcoStore baby body wash
The body wash smells similar to the shampoo but not as strong. It is a low lathering body wash and I do find that I have to reapply in the middle of bathing. (Note: this could be because I am so conditioned to think that clean means suds)
- No nasty chemicals in the product or packaging
- Clean scent
- It cleans like it’s supposed to
- I wish the consistency was a little thicker
- I would like the packaging to be a little more interesting. If I saw this on a store shelf I probably wouldn’t pick it up.
Life with Stewie Griffin
As I watched my 11 month old destroy the house with gusto today while I wondered why, with all of the toys in this house, WHY must he fling coasters like little Frisbees? Pull all of the books off the bookshelves? Take all of the CDs out and strew them around the office? Repeatedly take a nosedive into the laundry basket filled with diapers and toss them out across the living room? (Thankfully they were clean!) It got me thinking about his upcoming birthday in three weeks. (Wait, what? Three weeks?!) What am I going to get him?
Surely my little Stewie Griffin would love to get his hands on a rocket launcher or a knife juggling kit, but I don’t think those are rated in the 1-2 year old range. I started to look around the house at the things that he plays with the most to get some birthday gift ideas.
