My mother used to make these for me all the time when I was little. I haven’t had one in at least 25 years. It took me back to Bennington, Vermont circa nineteen seventy-something when my mom was a single mother and college student. To her she was trying to cram all the nutrients into me that she could on a very small budget. To me, she was giving me the greatest sandwich ever. I enjoyed it almost as much today as I did then. Now Dub loves them as much as I do.
