It has been a whirlwind past few days! My husband officially got the job out west on Thursday after passing the background check and we hope to be out there by August first. That means that we will be moving from our current house in about three weeks and taking our time getting out there. Right now it hardly seems like this is happening because we have been trying to move for so long.
The next day, Friday he was offered a job with another company that is a work from home position that would allow us to live anywhere we wanted but involves a lot of travel. We would finally be able to move to Austin like we originally planned but even before he was offered this job we knew that it wouldn’t work for us. So after two years of trying to move to Austin, we turned it down. That seems a little surreal but we think we made the right choice.
In potentially crazy news we have decided to throw caution to the wind and rent a house site unseen. We just don’t have the time to go out there and with resources such as Google Earth and other internet information we feel that buying plane tickets without 2 weeks notice to go look in person is an unnecessary expense that we could use for movers and to take our time to see the country on the way out. I hope we make a good choice! If not, we can move in a year, right?
I’m nervous but very excited about our new adventure!
