I missed the last two weeks because things have been a bit, I don’t know, unpredictable. I’ve been a little scattered and I really need to make myself a blog calendar. But anyway…
What is this Currently thing? It is a link up started by Jenna over at A Mama Collective to tell our readers what we’ve been up to over the past week. It is in link up form so we can read what others have been up to and build a community. Fun, right?
Thinking about:
This week I have been thinking a lot about depression and anxiety in the wake of Robin Williams’ heartbreaking suicide. I can’t seem to shake it because I have suffered from depression and anxiety for a very long time. I wrote about my story and it helped to get it out but I’m still a bit shaken by the whole thing.
This past weekend we made a trip up to Boulder to my favorite spice shop and Boulder is also home to the house that was used for the exterior shots for Mork & Mindy. We stopped by the house to see the memorials left by fans and it was hard to hold back the tears. It was a more powerful experience than I was expecting.
Reading:
I’m still reading Doctor Sleep by Stephen King. -sigh- I am such a slow reader sometimes and it usually takes me a long time to get going on a Stephen King book. He takes so long to develop his characters that it takes me a while before I’m into it but, thankfully, patience is generally rewarded. I am finally at a point where I understand how all of the characters fit together and I am now reading it more.
Thankful for:
This week I have been ever so thankful for Sesame Street Classics on Amazon Instant Video. I have taken some time off from the blog and that has left me pretty behind so Sesame Street Classics has kept Dub entertained while I can play catch up. The old episodes are so much better than the new ones! I have thought that maybe I feel this way since the old episodes are what I grew up on but they have kept Dub far more entertained than the new ones do.
Enjoying:
While the weather has been oppressively hot here for the past month and a half I am enjoying the last few days before summer vacation ends. Red goes back to school on Thursday and while I am looking forward to the normalcy that the school year brings, I also enjoy the relaxed, lazier days of summer.
All too soon there will be a chill to the air and here in Colorado, we will probably have our first snow before October ends so I am going to soak in these last long sunny days.
Watching:
Project Runway is back! I love me some Tim Gunn so this is one show that I always look forward to. Anyone who is a walking dictionary like Tim Gunn is a hero to the word nerd in me.
None of the designers are standing out for me yet and I find them all a bit drab but I’m hoping that will change as we start whittling them down.
What has made an impact on you this week? I’d love to hear about it!
