This week Currently has started with a weekly theme. I love this idea! I love theme posts and today’s topic is, of course, fall.
It’s still warm here in Colorado, in my neck of the woods anyway. It looks like next week this will change. I am thinking about when the bite will finally hit the air. When that happens then it will be time for pumpkin bread, stews, soups, and all of the other colder weather comfort foods that I enjoy.
I finally finished Doctor Sleep! I know, right? Today I started reading Slaughterhouse Five because it’s Banned Books Week this week and censorship? Ain’t nobody got time for that! So this is the banned book that I have chosen to read this week.
My husband. I have been reading so many women complaining about their husbands. They’re lazy, they’re controlling, they don’t treat their wives as equals, you name it. I don’t know how much of this is exaggeration stemming from annoyance (we’ve all been there) but it just seems to be such a common theme lately. While no one is perfect, my husband is a pretty darned good guy. He gets that even though I’m home during the day I can’t possibly get every little thing done. He helps with dishes, kids, laundry, messes, and he opens pickle jars. He doesn’t belittle me for not mopping the floor, blame me for not doing my hair, or scold the kids for making a mess in the living room. Overall, he’s a pretty cool dude and I’m pretty lucky.
Ahh, fall. The time when the shows come back! Of course I’m watching Sons of Anarchy (awesome!) and looking forward to tomorrow when season 9 of How I Met Your Mother comes on Netflix (yes!). I am also looking forward to Grey’s Anatomy, Scandal, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, and Modern Family to start back up.
Looking forward to:
Mountain drives to look at the fall colors. Finding a place to pick apples because evidently apple picking isn’t as prevalent in Colorado as it is in New England. Halloween. Finishing some work in the back yard now that it’s not so hot!
What are you looking forward to this fall?
