Our kids have needed bedroom upgrades for a while now and finally with their birthdays coming up, we decided to do it. Better late than never, right? I hope so because Procrastination is my middle name.
We finally got a new bed for Red and Dub inherited the headboard that Red has had since he was about six. Almost fifteen is about time for a more grown-up space. Dub was finally moved out of his toddler bed and into a brand new twin bed which probably should have happened, oh, about a year ago. Now we’re finally using the bedding set that we’ve had in the closet for more than two years. For Christmas he will be getting some new pirate accent pieces to replace the ones from his nursery/toddler set. About time, right?
We also didn’t forget ourselves. We have company coming for Thanksgiving so I needed to get some pillows and blankets for them. If it was going to be just my mother again this year we would be fine but my grandmother is also coming along. An 88-year-old woman from Florida needs blankets. Lots and lots of blankets. So I took the opportunity to finally get a new comforter that actually matches our current bedroom so we no longer have the vampy goth bedroom.
I wish I would have taken some before pictures but this is Dub’s room now. Ahoy!
Red’s new, more grown-up room. The red comforter is the old one from our room while his was in the dryer. His is green and doesn’t match at all.
He got that Fathead of Fenway Park this past Christmas and we now finally have it on the wall! What did I say about procrastination?
And our new comforter. Now picture these walls and this bed with the red comforter. A boudoir perfect for Vampira.
Our room still has some work that needs to be done. I have to paint our bathroom, paint or restain our dressers, and get The Husband’s IKEA Rast nightstand finished. You know, in my infinite spare time.
