A long time ago, in a galaxy far far away . . .
Okay, so it was just a long time ago. I was a young child who was obsessed with the Star Wars movies and watched them every time they were on TV. When I had my first son he was quickly introduced to my love of Star Wars. He was fortunate to not have to wait when it was on TV though because we had the movies at home that he could watch anytime he wanted. My husband is just as big of a Star Wars fan as I am so the tradition was strengthened and carried on with our second son.
When I found out that Star Wars was coming out with a new cereal, you know that we had to try it to add some fun to our breakfast table.
Like his older brother before him, Dub is being brought up in our family’s Star Wars tradition. He was already a fan before he could even walk.
In the past Red has been Yoda and Darth Vader for Halloween and to keep up the tradition, last year Dub was the cutest little Luke Skywalker I’ve ever seen!
Since we don’t do kids’ cereals all the time it’s a real treat when we do finally have it in the house. My kids loved not only loved the novelty of Star Wars cereal, they also loved the taste and had so much fun figuring out what each piece was. The marshmallow “Marbits” are in 6 fun shapes: Yoda, R2D2, Jedi Fighter, Stormtrooper, and red and blue lightsabers with TIE Fighter, X-Wing Starfighter, and Millenium Falcon corn pieces.
Not only was Dub excited to eat the cereal, he was excited to BE the cereal! He had to dig out his Halloween costume and have breakfast as a young Jedi. I love how something as simple as breakfast cereal can bring out a child’s imagination and have them roleplaying for the rest of the morning.
