Orange chicken always brings me back in time because, like many teenagers, I was a mall rat. My friends and I used to wander the mall for hours every weekend and in our mall there was a Panda Express in the food court that always smelled so good. They would hand out free samples of their orange chicken at the counter and that’s how they pulled me in. I fell in love with the sweet and spicy combination.
Even now, when we get Chinese take-out we almost always have orange chicken, so when I found out that Panda Express was taking their chicken on the road with the Orange Chicken Love Food Truck Tour, I knew that we were going to be making our way to Denver this weekend. Yes, I really did decide to plan a weekend around it.
This Saturday, August 29th we’ll be spending the day in downtown Denver as well as making sure we visit the Panda Express food truck and I can’t wait! I love to visit food trucks with the kids because they think it’s so much fun to get their food off a truck. I will be updating this post with pictures and to tell you all about the experience for those of you whose cities are later in the tour.
If you’re going to be in the Denver area this weekend, stop by and get some free orange chicken. If you’re not in the Denver area, check out their website to see if they will be near you. The food truck tour is going on now through September in many major cities across the country.
Let’s get together to celebrate The True Original!
Swing by for free food, cool swag, and fabulous fun.
Free event for all ages.
Tailgate at the Game
Corner of W. 17th Ave. & Federal Blvd.
2pm – 6pm
Update: We went to the Panda Express food truck this past weekend while we were in Denver visiting our favorite bookstore. I must admit that getting there was a little crazy since it was game day at Mile High Stadium and the crowd was starting to pour in, but that added to the excitement a bit since the food truck experience was Tailgating at the Game. We finally got there, though and not a moment too soon.
