My family and I received complimentary tickets to see Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey’s Out of this World at the Denver Coliseum in exchange for my honest review.
It has been many years since I’ve been to the circus. I remember my grandmother bringing me a few times when I was a little girl and I didn’t go again until my mother brought my oldest son and me. That was fourteen years ago and the circus has changed a lot since then! I was excited to have the opportunity to go see Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey‘s Out of this World with my family. I can’t wait to tell you about it.
Note: Unfortunately, I won’t be able to tell you about the first 20-25 minutes of the circus. Despite getting to the Denver Coliseum more than a half hour before showtime, we didn’t get inside until 15 minutes after the show started, only to find that they had separated me from my family. We then had to wait again for them to give us four tickets together.
Thankfully we ended up with really good seats, but it was still a huge bummer to miss so much of the show. The Denver Coliseum has a lot of work to do when it comes to handling ticket sales and Will Call tickets, but that isn’t the fault of the circus. We still had a good time.
Anyway, I am excited to tell you about our night at the circus.
Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus
There were clowns, ice skating, animals, basketball players on unicycles, flying trapeze artists, and so much more! You will get the full circus experience with a fun space theme. Out of this World is more than a circus, it’s also a space quest of good vs evil.
There have been changes to the circus that have made it more theatrical. They now concentrate more on acrobatics and stunts more than the animals. There are still animals in the show, but they are not the stars of the show and the elephants have been taken out entirely. For me, this is a welcome change. I am more excited by the flying trapeze and other stunts and Out of this World did not disappoint.
One of our favorite acts was the motorcyclists in the cage. It’s one of those acts that sends my heart right to my throat.
My boys are 16 and 5 and it’s true what they say: the circus is fun for all ages. Our whole family loved the show, including my teenage son. When we left he said, “that was so much fun!” If you have teenagers, you know how hard it can be to get them to say those words sometimes.
As they have for the past 146 years, Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus had something for everyone, no matter your age. I highly recommend going to see Out of this World. I can’t wait to go back again!
