This post was developed in partnership with Tom’s of Maine. All opinions are my own.
We’re all busy, aren’t we? When was the last time you took a few hours to yourself to simply do what you wanted to do? I don’t mean catching up on housework, but rather something you really wanted? Whether it’s just stealing a few quiet hours at home, shopping, going to a movie, or having a quiet lunch, we all need to take some time out for ourselves.
How often do you take some time just for yourself? Probably not often enough, right?
Sometimes I need to step back and take a day off to recharge. Unfortunately, when you’re a parent, those days are few and far between. However, after a stressful week I was more done than usual and hile I can’t take a full day off unless I run away, I can a few hours. So I did . . . and it was glorious.
On a typical day, I bring Dub to school for half day Kindergarten then come home and immediately start working. Not this time! Instead, when I got home I made myself a cup of coffee, planned my week in my planner, and browsed the internet for fun instead of for work. For once I didn’t open my blog emails, schedule a single social media post or plan out blog posts. I simply relaxed.
I even took a bath all by myself. It’s not often that get to bathe or shower without someone asking me if I’m almost done because I really needed to see an amazing new Lego creation.
Then I read some of my book! This is kind of big deal because while I used to read all the time, now I often only have time to read before bed. This is hard for the book nerd in me, but it’s just for now. One of these days I will miss the kids’ noise and will long for it as I sit and quietly read my book. But on this day, it was a wonderful and much-needed break.
After my few hours of quiet and solitude, I walked to pick Dub up from school. It was a nice fall day, though not as crisp as it may look in the photos. It was a very warm 65 degrees which felt more like 75 degrees in the sun. But the walk was nice and walking home with my little man was the best part.
Since it hasn’t really cooled down yet in the Denver area, I am glad to have Tom’s of Maine deodorant in my corner. As you probably know, I prefer to use products made by companies who are conscious of the environment and use fully recyclable packaging.
I also appreciate companies who strive to create products that work well without the use of harsh ingredients like aluminum and artificial fragrances. Instead, they use wonderful scents like tea tree, lemongrass, and apricot. The fact that they aren’t full of artificial fragrances is one of my favorite things about Tom’s of Maine deodorant. Tea tree is my absolute favorite!
As if that wasn’t great enough, Tom’s of Maine doesn’t test on animals and gives 10% of profits back to helping people and the planet. Plus, it works! These are all of the reasons why I am a Tom’s of Maine convert and why it will always be my deodorant of choice on my busiest days as well as my days off.

I really like Tom’s deodorant, but I use the crystal roll-on one; it worked better for me.
