I received a complimentary set of Weird But True books in exchange for my honest review.
Children are natural knowledge seekers. They want to know all they can about the world around them, and nothing proves their thirst for knowledge more than the toddler years when they’re always asking, “Why?” about everything. Their curiosity doesn’t change as they get older even if they no longer ask why or how.
My youngest son recently turned eight and he wants to know about alllll the things. Ever since he learned how to read he has been hungry for history, science, and odd facts. He reads nonfiction children’s books and reference books for kids almost exclusively, so when I had the opportunity to review a set of Weird But True! books from National Geographic Kids, I knew that he would gobble them up.
These books will be a fantastic addition to your child’s library as well. Let’s have a look at what’s inside . . .
For review, we received:
- Weird But True! volumes 1-10
- Weird But True! Christmas
- Weird But True! Greek Mythology
- Weird But True! Cool and Crazy Sticker Doodle Book.
We have another Weird But True! book that Dub got last Christmas, so I knew that all of these books were so up Dub’s alley. It’s as if this set was curated by just for him.
No matter your child’s reading level, if they are the curious type who loves to learn fun facts, they will love these books. Each book in The Weird But True! volumes 1-10 and Christmas has one fact per interestingly illustrated page, so your child can read just a few facts or the entire book.
Even though these books are easy to read, they are anything but boring. Dub is in second grade and is an excellent reader, and he loved these as much now as he would have liked them in Kindergarten.
