Chocolate Peanut Butter & Banana TruMoo Milkshake

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of TruMoo. All opinions are 100% mine.

We are a pretty health conscious family but we do allow ourselves treats here and there. When we do have a treat I do my best to make them healthier than the traditional version. Last night I decided to make my family milkshakes and to make them a bit healthier I used frozen yogurt instead of ice cream and TruMoo lowfat chocolate milk which comes from trusted dairies and doesn’t contain any artificial growth hormones or HFCS.

The end result was a hit with everyone. The milkshake was delicious and I feel better about giving TruMoo to my kids as an occasional treat and using it in milkshakes instead of chocolate syrup.

Normally I am a baker but I am also a “throw a bunch of ingredients together and see what happens” kind of a cook so unlike baking, milkshakes appeal to that side of me.

I gathered up some ingredients: TruMoo 1% chocolate milk, a fully ripened banana, chocolate frozen Greek yogurt, peanut butter, vanilla, cayenne pepper (yes, really), and Nutter Butter cookies. Oh, and of course whipped cream.

This really couldn’t be easier. Cut up the banana into small pieces and put them in a blender (or in a large cup if you use a stick blender like I did) and break them up a little more. Then add 3 tbsp of creamy peanut butter, one cup of chocolate milk, one cup of chocolate frozen yogurt, and 1/4 tsp vanilla and blend until smooth.

If you’re feeling adventurous then you can add a small pinch of cayenne pepper. It doesn’t make the milkshake spicy, instead it accentuates the chocolate and leaves a little tingle in the back of your throat. I use cayenne pepper frequently in chocolate desserts. Garnish with whipped cream and a Nutter Butter cookie.

My kids love the chocolate flavor. They aren’t allowed to drink it all the time, but its a better treat than candy or ice cream!

I’m so intrigued about using cayenne pepper in a shake. This is the 2nd time in the last week I’ve heard of this. My favorite flavor is the Trumoo Chocolate!

No matter how you combine them, if you mix together chocolate and peanut butter it is going to be delicious. My favorite is the chocolate marshmallow variety.

I have thought about picking up TruMoo for my kids but with the price of things I always hesitate to pick up new items so I would love to win this so we can try an see if they will like it or not.
