What if I told you that you could monitor and save energy while staying on a budget? You’d probably ask me where you could sign up.

You could always renovate your home with all new appliances and fixtures, but that isn’t economically possible for most of us. The good news is that it’s simple with TP-Link. Their line of Smart Home products allows you to make your entire home smarter and more energy efficient simply while also staying within a reasonable budget.

Finding ways to save energy is one of the most important things to me. Not just because saving energy saves money, but it also helps the planet. When I found out about TP-Link Smart Home products, I had to find out more. I am so excited about the Smart WiFi light bulbs, plugs, and light switches, and I think you will be, too.

The Smart WiFi Bulb, Smart WiFi Plug, and Smart WiFi Light Switch are simple to install and can be operated anywhere with the Kasa app on your iOS or Android smartphone. With the app you can set schedules, monitor your energy usage, turn your lights on vacation mode, and more.

Smart WiFi LED Bulb

The Smart WiFi LED Bulb looks like a regular LED light bulb but is a little bigger and a bit heavier. It plugs right into your lamps and fixtures like any other light bulb, but that is where the similarities end. Unlike standard LED light bulbs, you can reduce your energy consumption by up to 80% and the bulb will last 22.8 years. This can mean big savings for your family with a relatively small investment.

With the Smart Bulb hooked up to your smartphone via WiFi, you can manage the bulb easily from anywhere inside or outside your home. If you forgot to turn the lights off after leaving the the room, no problem. If your child is afraid of the dark like mine, use your phone to turn the light on before entering the room.

One of my favorite features of the Smart Bulb is that it will adjust based on the amount of natural light in the room. It can also be set to change based on circadian rhythm. Or just for fun, you can change the color of the light to any color of the rainbow you’d like. This is perfect for holidays and parties.

Smart WiFi Plug

Like the Smart Bulb, the Smart WiFi Plug can run on a schedule, set to away mode, and monitor your energy usage.

The Smart Plug is perfect for operating small appliances, lamps, and even Christmas lights. When we put our Christmas tree up next month we will plug it into the Smart Plug to monitor how much energy it uses. Until then, we have our basement space heater plugged into it. This way, if my teenager forgets to turn the heater off, we can turn it off from anywhere in the house. I am also interested to see how much energy that little heater really uses.

Smart WiFi Light Switch

Finally, the Smart Light Switch is really exciting to me. It performs the same functions as the Smart Bulb and Smart Plug but is a wall switch. As of now, we don’t have it hooked up because the colors of the wires in our outlet don’t match the ones on the Smart Switch and we didn’t want to make a mistake installing it. Over the long weekend my husband is going to do a little research to find out which colors are to be connected, then we will be installing it in our front room.

By setting the Smart Switch to operate a prominent overhead light, our home will be more secure when we are away from home for an extended time since no one will know that we aren’t home. TP-Link Smart Home products are a great way to keep your home both smarter and safer.

You can also go one step further and operate your TP-Link Smart Home products with just the sound of your voice by connecting them to your Amazon Echo, Amazon Dot, Amazon Tap, and other smart home devices. So what are you waiting for? Make your home a smart home today!
