On this Halloween Eve I am excited to tell you about CostumeExpress.com. It’s a little late for this year’s costume but it is definitely a site that you should keep in mind for next year.

I was given the opportunity to review a costume and I chose a Superman shirt, complete with a cape.

The costume:

K-Dub is going to be Clark Kent this year so he only needed a Superman shirt instead of an entire costume. Since in my experience over the past 12 years of buying costumes, Halloween costumes tend to run on the small side. I always size up and they seem to fit just right, so when I chose my review item I chose a size small (4-6).

It comes complete with a six-pack! I thought that the printing on the shirt might look cheesy, but it’s actually quite well done.

The shirt is also great quality. I was expecting it to be thin and the printing to be kind of low quality because a lot of Halloween costumes in this price range aren’t done well. I was very pleasantly surprised. The material is thick and not at all see-through.

This comes with a super cute cape as well that attaches with Velcro.

My experience:

Normally K wears a 3T and some shirts he can get away with a 4T. As it turns out, the costume shirts run true to size and the shirt is quite large on him. It’s still super cute on him in my completely unbiased opinion, of course.

It’s a bird! It’s a plane!

No matter how hard he tries, the shirt doesn’t help him to fly.

Since this particular shirt is too big to use for this year I did end up buying a plain Superman t-shirt for his costume this year. We will be hanging on to this one and using it in about 2 years and he can be Superman instead of Clark Kent. Since the cape attaches with Velcro we are using the cape this year. I will pin it on to peek out of the back of his costume and I think it’ll be great.

The moral of the story is, as far as the costume shirts anyway, they run true to size. If you’re used to sizing up for costumes, don’t if you purchase one of these. I don’t know how their full costumes run though.

Overall I am pleased with the quality. The prices and selection on CostumeExpress.com are great and I will be keeping them in mind for my future costume purchases.

What are your kids going to be for Halloween this year?

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
