OraMD All-Natural Toothpaste & Mouthwash Review

What is OraMD? OraMD is a unique all natural liquid toothpaste, mouthwash and breath freshener. It is made from the pure botanical oils of almond, spearmint, and peppermint that kills the bad bacteria from your teeth and gums.

There are several ways to use OraMD:

  • Use OraMD as a toothpaste by putting 2-5 drops on your toothbrush and brush as usual.
  • Use OraMD as a mouthwash by adding 2-5 drops to an ounce of water and swish and gargle.
  • Use OraMD as a breath freshener by putting a few drops on the tip of your tongue and coat the gumline to kill bacteria.

OraMD All-Natural Toothpaste & Mouthwash Review

I was given a complimentary bottle of OraMD to review and was pleased with the results. When using it straight as a toothpaste and breath freshener it has a strong flavor, but not unpleasant. It tastes mostly of peppermint which has a strong flavor naturally. When using it as a mouthwash the flavor isn’t quite as strong. No matter how you choose to use it, it definitely leaves your mouth feeling fresher.

I am glad that there are alternatives to traditional toothpaste like OraMD that do not contain fluoride and other questionable ingredients. There is a growing controversy over fluoride and whether it’s truly beneficial or actually harmful for our oral health.

My oldest son has white spots on his permanent teeth likely from swallowing fluoride when he was little. This is called dental fluorosis and we will need to have it cosmetically fixed when he turns 18. This won’t be an inexpensive problem to fix and while we can lessen some of the discoloration of his teeth, the enamel damage is permanent. Because of what happened to his teeth before I knew of the issues surrounding fluoride, I still use a fluoride-free training toothpaste for K so the same thing doesn’t happen to his teeth. Products like OraMD will make it easier to continue using a fluoride-free toothpaste beyond the training toothpaste stage.
