We have reached the end of our back to school PURELL ® 30-Day Challenge. Red started school on August 20th so we haven’t been in school for the full 30 days of this challenge, but when there are kids in the house germs can come from anywhere. Grocery store carts, the playground, even the doctor’s office. Yes, the doctor’s office. My kids hardly ever get sick, but lately Dub has gotten a cold within 48 hours of visiting the doctor, presumably from the germs in the waiting room.

After submitting Dub’s final paperwork for Pre-K I got an email that he was missing the last dose of one of his vaccines. This was news to me, but it seems that it slipped through the cracks when we switched pediatricians so we went in to get his vaccine up to date. Since we didn’t want yet another cold from the waiting room, we made sure that the kids and I used my PURELL ® JELLY WRAP™ after the appointment. I am happy to report that none of us got even so much as a sniffle for that visit.

One might think that teenagers would know better than the little kids about handwashing and keeping their hands clean in general, but I see how often my own teenager washes his hands. Not so much. Because of this, Red also keeps a PURELL® JELLY WRAP™ on his backpack so he can use it throughout the day while he’s at school. But since he probably really doesn’t (let’s be honest here), I make him give his hands a squirt when he gets home from school.

How we keep from getting sick:

  • Proper handwashing at appropriate times (after using the bathroom, when you sneeze, before preparing food, etc.)
  • A squirt of PURELL® Advanced Hand Sanitizer after school.
  • Keep a PURELL® JELLY WRAP™ in your bag at all times.

In conclusion, I am happy to report that in the past 30 days no one in our family has had so much as a sniffle. We will continue to use PURELL® whenever needed so we can continue to remain germ-free throughout the year.
