Storyland Yoga is a very cute yoga program for children ages 3-8 that incorporates storytelling along with the yoga poses for kids. While K-Dub just turned three, unfortunately he is still a little too non-compliant to follow along. When I was given the opportunity to review this DVD I was worried that this might be the case but hoped for the best.
Even though he didn’t participate in the Yoga itself, he still had a good time watching the DVD and giggled quite a bit throughout. He was very interested in it as a “movie” so I know that once he gets a little better at following directions he will have a lot of fun with this. I look forward to bringing it back out in a couple of months and trying it again.
The instructor is really great, telling stories while doing yoga poses with the kids. It is a nice mix of storytelling, cartoon segments, and yoga to keep kids engaged. The yoga segments are great, too. They give your child the opportunity to get some exercise in a fun way.

Here is what Playful Planet has to say about Storyland Yoga:
Storyland Yoga is a fun-filled adventure that infuses children with an eco-conscious message. Two unique stories, Save the Whale and Condor Trek, engage a child’s imagination through storytelling. Kid’s learn yoga postures by becoming part of the story and imitating animals. Yoga is great exercise and helps to calm children, giving them greater focus and increased clarity. By connecting with nature and gaining respect for their own health and well-being, children become empowered to create solutions for the health and sustainability of our planet. Storyland Yoga is equally fun for parents and family members who can benefit from yoga, while enjoying organic time with their children.
I love that they incorporate environmental responsibility in this DVD as well. More than ever kids today need to use their imaginations, move, and preserve our planet and the Storyland Yoga DVD incorporates all that. I think this would be a fun stocking stuffer idea.
