This review and giveaway was made possible by Double Duty Divas and Febreze. I was compensated for my participation in this campaign, but all opinions are 100% mine.
I was asked to perform the noseblind test to see if Febreze could really eliminate the odors from my home. We invited some friends over for dinner, games, and a movie where they were asked to fill out a survey of how our home smelled when they first walked in, after popping some movie theater butter popcorn, and after the movie was over.
The overall consensus was that my home smelled like spaghetti sauce upon arrival. That makes sense since it was simmering on the stove. When we went downstairs with the popcorn, all anyone could smell was the popcorn and when the movie was over one guest said he smelled the kitty litter (the litter itself, which is pretty perfumy) and the other said she could just smell a nondescript smell that she thought was just our carpeting. Good! I am glad that despite having two cats, our house doesn’t smell like it!
Our overall experience:
Downstairs in our basement rec room is where we spend a lot of time. Off the rec room is a bathroom that also houses one of our cat litter boxes. Needless to say we don’t want those odors to remain in the carpet and furniture so I like to spray them both down with Febreze Fabric Refresh spray. It gives the room a fresh smell while eliminating the unsavory odors from the bathroom.
In the downstairs bath we also have the Febreze candle to light when someone uses the bathroom, either human or feline. I love candles in the bathroom because it makes it feel homey so an odor-eliminating candle is the perfect choice.
We love our cats but not their litter boxes. Yuck! With two cats we have twice the potential for bad odors and both of our litter boxes are in small rooms. In addition to the litter box in the basement bathroom, we also have one in our (very small) laundry room/half bath. This is the box that the cats use most often since it is on the main level of our house and between the litter box and dirty cloth diaper laundry, that room definitely needs some odor fighting power. This is why I chose the Febreze Noticeables plug-in for this room so we could have continuous odor elimination.
