If you don’t have a teenage son yet let me tell you a little bit about what it’s like to have one. They smell bad. I’m not talking about body odor or dirty laundry (though that can happen sometimes, too), I’m talking about body spray! Even if you don’t have a teenage son of your own you know what mean. You’ve passed that teenager or young adult male with a thick fog of body spray trailing behind him.

Moms, aunts, grandmas, it’s time to take a stand! It’s time to tell these young men to take it down a notch or ten and scent responsibly! I am thrilled to be a part of this campaign to help get the word out. To help my fourteen-year-old son learn that less is more when it comes to body spray Old Spice sent him this great and witty kit.

How To Scent Responsibly from Old Spice #SmellcomeToManhood

The kit included these tools that a teenage boy needs as he transitions to manhood.

  • Old Spice Re-fresh Body Spray
  • Old Spice Hair
  • Old Spice Branded Earbuds
  • “Over the Top” DVD
  • Duct Tape to fix anything on the planet.
  • Old Spice Branded Wood Flash Drive
  • Art of Manliness Book
  • Smellcome to Manhood Certificate.

Red is just fourteen so he is just beginning to get into personal grooming and such. Here he is getting used to the hair pomade. It has a light fragrance and isn’t overpowering, as long as you use a reasonable amount of course.

We have actually banned a certain kind of body spray and body wash from our house. It was just too much! He would take a shower and the whole house would smell like this body wash. And the body spray. Oh, the body spray. Way. Too. Much. We could taste it, it was so strong!

What does Red think about his Old Spice body spray?

At this age it can be difficult to get more than a one or two-word answer out of your kids. I asked him about his experience with the Old Spice body spray and he said, “It’s good.” When I asked to elaborate a bit more this is what he had to say:

  • He likes being able to be like the other kids who wear body sprays and he was kind of annoyed with me that I told him he couldn’t have the other stuff anymore. Haha!
  • He likes the smell better than the other stuff and that it lasts all day.
  • He has really enjoyed the Art of Manliness book and that it has given him good tips on how to be a good boyfriend (when that time comes) and eventually father. He likes that it also gives him general life tips that guys should know.

Finally I asked him if he has a better idea of how to apply body spray without being overpowering. He said that the spray nozzle of the bottle makes it easier for him not to spray too much and now that he knows that it lasts a long time he doesn’t feel like he has to spray as much on as before.

Success!

So please, join us in the revolution and just say NO to overpowering body sprays! Enter to win a Smellcome to Manhood kit for the teenage boy or young man in your life. Open to legal residents of the US, 18+

I never used teething necklaces with my children but these sound interesting. Maybe one day in the future a grandbaby can try them!

This would be great to have for my grandsons. I know years and years ago, my dad would only use Old Spice. He loved it and always smelled so nice

It is so important to teach good grooming habits to young men. I remember Old Spice from years ago and liked the mild fragrance.

I grew up with my dad and uncles using old spice cologne for men. I always thought it smelled so nice.

I have three nephews who would use this. I like that it is a faint scent, because a heavy scent would be too much on a young boy.
Thanks for the review and giveaway.

My husband is guilty of over spraying. Kills my lungs.

Relevant to the brand itself, have you ever taken the time to read the back of their deodorant products? Too hilarious and so creative! Apparently they have special atomic robots that shoot lasers at stench monsters. Haha
