It seems like wired headphones may be going by way of the Dodo bird. The new iPhone 7 no longer had a headphone jack, so how long will it be before other phone brands follow suit? Are you prepared?

I was excited to receive the BTS Sport wireless Bluetooth headphones by 66 Audio for review. This is my first pair of Bluetooth headphones and I wasn’t sure what to expect in terms of sound quality and overall performance. For the most part, I was happy with my experience. Read on to find out more.

The BTS Sport headphones come with a charging cord and they fold up for easy storage in the included carrying pouch. This is great for me since I tend to drop things in my purse and the pouch keeps my headphones in good condition.

They are also very easy to pair with your smartphone or Bluetooth-enabled MP3 player. In fact, they connect to two Bluetooth devices simultaneously using Multipoint Technology. This is great because I use them with both my iPhone and my iPod.

BTS Sport Features

  • Long battery life (400 hours on stand-by, 25 hours music playback)
  • 4.0 featuring CSR aptX® audio technology for superior wireless sound
  • CD quality sound
  • On-board battery meter for iOS devices
  • Lightweight and compact
  • Sweat resistant design; perfect for running and working out
  • Accept or reject an incoming call.
  • On-board skip, play, pause, volume control, or take calls with the touch of a button.

The BTS Sport headphones are also comfortable to wear. They wrap around your ear so, unlike earbuds, they won’t fall off. You can run and exercise without worry. The sound quality is also nice and clear.

The only drawbacks, in my opinion, is that I wish there was a deeper bass sound or a bass boost. Instead, I have to rely on my device to get that sound and not all devices have that ability. Also, there is a playback delay; though I imagine that might be the same with any Bluetooth headphone. This isn’t much of a problem unless you play Song Pop on your phone like I do. I lost a few rounds before realizing there was a delay. I know, first world problems. Other than that, I don’t see it being that big of a deal.

Overall, I like the design and sound quality of the BTS Sport wireless Bluetooth headphones and love to wear them while I’m out walking. Not being tied to a wire is great because, since my iPod Nano is so small, I sometimes tuck it in my sock if I don’t have pockets. Try doing that with wired headphones.

They are not only convenient, they may even be a necessity within a few years as we continue to move toward being a wireless society.
