Baby Babu was founded in Melbourne, Florida by the parents of twin boys. Baby Babu’s goals are to provide high quality, sustainable and affordable diapering solutions and related products to parents worldwide. They also strive to provide great customer service. I can tell you that in my dealings with Baby Babu I have found all of these things to be true. I am pleased to give some exposure to a newer diaper brand. Baby Babu is generously agreed to sponsor two diapers for the Summer Cloth Diaper Giveaway Hop. One will be included in the main package and one will be a second place prize!

Baby Babu has a great selection of colors, prints and adorable embroidered pocket diapers on their website as well as some new AIOs and covers. I chose the ALF (Alien Life Form) diaper to review. How adorable is this?! The color is a nice, vibrant orange without being blinding and the embroidery is very well done.

The diaper comes with a microfiber insert and the inside is a sleeve style with internal gussets. The sleeve style makes for easy stuffing and unstuffing but the openings aren’t wide enough for the insert to agitate out in the wash on its own. There is also a snap inside and on the insert if you wish to snap your insert in. I don’t do this because I find that the diaper pulls when I do (on all of these diapers with snap in inserts, not just this one), but some people like the option.

The tabs seem to be a little shorter than other diapers that I own as K usually wears his diapers on the first or second snap setting, but the fit is nice and secure. The rise setting is average for us as most of his diapers are still on the medium rise setting. He is 19½ months and 25½ pounds.

The fit is nice in the bum and look at how cute that embroidery is! I love it! The elastic in the back is snug so there isn’t much chance of having a blow out in this diaper. It looks tight in this photo but it’s not. I can run my finger along the back of this diaper without a problem at all.

K-Dub wasn’t sitting still for pictures during this photo shoot so this is the best picture that I could get of the leg elastic. You can’t see very much here but they are nice and snug. Again, not much chance of a blow out

This diaper allows enough movement to get into small spaces which is a must for K. I am not sure if you’ve noticed from my other reviews but he is a climber and a mover and needs a comfortable diaper!

  • Adorable embroidery and a nice selection of colors and prints
  • Quality for the price
  • No leaks
  • Internal gussets
  • Sleeve opening

Overall I like this diaper. It’s cute, we didn’t have any leaks, and it’s very nice quality for the price. I especially like how they don’t charge extra for the embroidered diapers. The only thing that I would change about this diaper would be to make the tabs a little longer. I would definitely recommend the Baby Babu diaper, especially for those on a budget.

Buy It
