I received a complimentary item in exchange for my honest review.
In our attempt to get the potty training show on the road I have been reviewing several trainers and the next one that I would like to tell you about is the EcoPosh trainer. I would like to send out a big thank you to Thanks Mama who sent me this trainer to review.
About the trainer:
- small – 1T/2T (25-35 lbs)
- medium – 2T/3T (35-45 lbs)
- large – 3T+ (45+ lbs)
If you aren’t familiar with the EcoPosh line, they are recycled and organic made from organic cotton, bamboo, and recycled water bottles. They are made by Rumparooz and come in five gorgeous colors.
This is a one piece trainer much like underwear with two layers of bamboo and organic cotton and a hidden layer of TPU in the wet zone, however these training pants are not fully waterproof like a diaper.
The fabric is very soft and I absolutely love the muted colors. So much so that I couldn’t choose which color I wanted to review so I left it up to Helena from Thanks Mama. I love this blue that she sent me.
K-Dub just turned 3 years old and is about 32½ pounds. We chose the medium trainer to review. The first thing I noticed is that the sizing of this trainer is a bit larger than the others I have reviewed so far. It’s a little big on him but not too big.
As you can see, there is a little fabric bunching due to the larger size but the leg elastics are still snug. We didn’t have a #2 accident in these but I feel like they would hold it in if it were to happen.
They look so cute and comfortable on him, don’t they?
All of these trainers are a medium so you can get a visual for the sizing of the EcoPosh. My advice would be to size down if you’re on the cusp of two different sizes like we are. But since K doesn’t seem to be all that interested in actual potty training, I think I’m going to be very happy that these are on the bigger side. We just may need them for a while yet.
How absorbent are they? Though we are hoping that having trainers to wear will encourage an interest in the potty, he doesn’t have control over his bladder yet so these trainers did get pretty wet. Keep in mind that these are not a diaper and shouldn’t be expected to absorb like one. This early on in our potty training adventure I don’t think I would have him wear these out of the house because we would have wet pants (in fact, he won’t be wearing any trainers out of the house at this point!) but around the house these were fine.
They didn’t leak down his leg but if you’re in the very early stages of potty training, you should probably be keeping a close eye on your toddler so they don’t sit on the couch in a wet trainer. Being in the early stages of potty training, you’re probably already paying attention to them, looking for cues.
I do love these trainers and can’t wait until K is more in control and can wear them more often. You’d think that they would be stiff, being made from recycled water bottles and all, but they are so soft and well made on the inside and out. The wet zone is well padded and when he has more control over his bladder I think they will be great at keeping his clothes dry if he does have a small accident on the way to the potty.
