To say that I love Boba is an understatement. I first got the Boba 2G last year and it quickly replaced my other soft structured carrier as my go-to carrier while the other was demoted to my emergency carrier that I left in the car in case I forgot the Boba. Not only are their carriers amazing, so is their customer service. When I was given the chance to review the new Boba 3G I was absolutely ecstatic! I chose the Soho print.

If you already have a 2G and are wondering about the changes and if it’s worth it to upgrade to the 3G like I was, I have taken photos of the two side-by-side to show you those differences.

At a quick side by side glance they still look pretty much the same

But as you can see, the back of the 3G is higher and there is a slightly different shape to the waist strap

I think my favorite change is the way the hood is secured. Instead of the two little elastic bands that I had a hard time securing neatly, they have added a zippered compartment for a sleaker look

I also love the addition of the zippered compartment for keys or a cell phone

There is also a great strap to keep your purse from sliding off your shoulder

Larger foot straps that now use snaps instead of velcro

And one of the biggest changes is that there are snaps inside to shorten the length of the carrier so that it can now be used for infants under 15 pounds

I have owned 3 different brands of soft structured carrier (not including the 2g) and rented another and the Boba is by far my favorite.

  • It has a streamlined shape,
  • Higher back for greater security, especially for leaners
  • Very comfortable
  • Gorgeous prints
  • Very quick and easy to get it adjusted right out of the box and to adjust from one parent to the other
  • Will work for plus sized people without buying an extension piece
  • Excellent customer service

My husband is a burly guy and he wasn’t able to wear the other carriers but he has no problem at all wearing the Boba. It fits his waist and very broad shoulders and he says it’s very comfortable. He wore it while we were trekking through the woods on a recent geocaching expedition. Apparently K was comfortable too and decided to take a nap. Even while K slept he said that he could barely feel the extra 24 pounds of dead weight on his back.

I worried that the Soho print might be too feminine but as you can see, dads can definitely pull it off. There is some pink in it but there is also a lot of red. (I assure you that any color coordination in the above photo is coincidental but illustrates my point perfectly)
