Shamrock wand instructions:
Use these shamrock magic wands to ring in St. Patrick’s Day. Pretend to chase leprechauns and search for a magical pot of gold!
Gather all of your supplies. Apply a basecoat of gold paint to the wooden dowels, then let dry before applying another coat if necessary.
Using a hot glue gun, attach one shamrock to the front of the wooden dowel and another one to the back dowel by applying a line of hot glue down the center and gluing around the edges of the shamrock. Also, apply hot glue to the stem of the shamrock to finish.
Measure and cut 20 inches of rainbow ribbon. Tie the ribbon in a square knot around the shamrock wand then cut out a notch on the ends of the ribbon. This will give it a finished look while also preventing the ribbon from unraveling.
Paint the alphabet letter stickers with a basecoat of metallic gold paint and let it dry.
Finish the St. Patrick’s Day shamrock wands by applying the gold glitter monogram letters to the center of the wand to personalize the wands for each child.
The best part about this craft is that it doesn’t require any hard-to-find materials and supplies. You probably already have the majority of what you need at home.
Kids will love painting and adding their own style in order to make their shamrock wand craft truly unique.
In about an hour your child will have made a fun craft that they can use to participate in St. Patrick’s Day celebrations or celebrate their Irish heritage.
