How to make a Hogwarts house bookmark
You don’t have to have much or any artistic talent to make this awesome DIY bookmark. Grab your supplies and let’s make one or four!
For each Hogwarts bookmark, you will need the following simple supplies that you can find around the house, at the Dollar Store, any craft store, or online.
Wand craft materials:

- Craft felt in ruby red, black, gold, silver-grey, kelly green, and royal blue
- Fabric glue
- Permanent marker
- Ruler
- Detail scissors
- Straight pins
- Adhesive tape runner
- Harry Potter house tie printable bookmark pattern
Harry Potter bookmark instructions:
Gather all of your supplies and download, print, and cut out the Harry Potter bookmark pattern. Pin the tie pattern onto the ruby red, kelly green, royal blue, and black pieces of craft felt with straight pins. Cut out with scissors.

Measure two strips of gold and silver-grey craft felt measuring 12 inches long by ¾ inches wide, and ¼ inch wide by 12 inches long and mark with a permanent pen. Carefully cut inside the traced lines for a clean, finished project.

Starting along the bottom line of the base of the tie, fit the gold stripes onto the red and black ties, and the silver-grey stripes onto the kelly green and royal blue ties. Use one of the ¾ inch stripes as a spacer. Use scissors to cut the lengths of measured felt.

Use fabric glue to neatly attach all of the stripes to all of the ties with liquid fabric glue.

With a straight pin, attach the crest pattern to the gold craft felt and carefully cut the pattern out with scissors. Repeat with a second gold crest and the two silver-grey crests.

Cut out the Hogwarts house monogram letters (this part doesn’t have to be exact) and apply the adhesive runner on the back. Attach the G to red craft felt, the H to the black craft felt, the S to green craft felt, and the R to the blue craft felt. Now neatly cut the monograms out with some small craft scissors.

Attach the G and H to the two gold crests with fabric glue, then repeat by gluing the S and R to the silver-grey crests.

With detail scissors, trim the roughly cut stripes even with the edges of the tie base.

With fabric glue, glue the house monogram crests securely to the coordinating tie bookmark.

This is a fun craft activity that your child can create in only about 30 minutes that doesn’t require a lot of expensive supplies. You might even already have most of what you’ll need at home.
Your Harry Potter fan will love their new Hogwarts House tie bookmarks.
