I have been a fan of CJ’s BUTTer cloth diaper safe rash cream almost as long as I have been a fan of cloth diapers. I have tried the regular BUTTer pot, the BUTTer stick, Carcass Cleaner, wool wash, and Spritz o’ BUTTer.

What is BUTTer Spritz?

To put it simply, it is the spray version of their popular BUTTer and it comes in all of the wonderful scents that you’ve come to expect from CJ’s. But why would you want a spray instead of a cream?

CJ's Spritz O Butter

I have fallen in love with the Spritz o’ BUTTer mostly because it is less messy than using a tub of cream, but it is also more convenient. Having a spray for the diaper bag is the perfect solution because when you’re out and about you don’t always have soap and water handy to wash it off your hands. With the Spritz o’ BUTTer you don’t have to worry. Spray it on, put the diaper on, spray your hands with hand sanitizer and be on your way. Simple!

Having a spray isn’t only great when you’re on the go. Has your baby ever had a really bad rash where the thought of touching it to rub cream on makes you wince? Yeah, me too. For those rashes a spray is the perfect painless solution.

Does it work as well as a cream?

The short answer is yes, it works just as well as the typical CJ’s diaper cream that comes in a pot or tub. It is thicker than what you may think of when you think of a spray but it isn’t greasy. I love it for general redness and mild rashes but I wouldn’t suggest this (or any zinc-free cream) for severe rashes. Thankfully those aren’t very common in our house anymore. So if your child is prone to the occasional mild diaper rash I would highly recommend picking up a bottle of CJ’s Spritz o’ BUTTer today!

  1. Thank you for your review. I love that it comes in spray so I don’t have to touch painful rashes.

  2. I love the idea of a spray. I hate touching painful rashes on my babies. I would love to give this try…can’t decide which scent to choose!

  3. I love CJs pots but I’ve never tried the spritz I’d like to try it and the lip balm.

  4. I need to get some of this. I have the Honest rash cream that I purchased before making a final decision on cloth diapers, and even though I plan on using a liner when a diaper rash occurs, I still get paranoid about it. I think I would like the sprayer for on the go and the tub for home purposes. Less mess to clean up when you are out and about. I’m not a huge fan of scented stuff, but I bet these smell great! Thank you!

  5. Wish I would have known about this the last time my daughter had an “untouchable” rash! I always feel so terrible when putting the cream on hurts more than the rash itself. Before your giveaway/post, I had no idea they made a product like this – thanks for sharing.

  6. I LOVE the Spritz for irritation or rashes that my child doesn’t want me to touch, too (particularly for little boys! It took a while for me to realize that the red “rash” on his penis was actually just from chafing, but since it was painful he wouldn’t let me touch it to put on any traditional cream. The spritz helped him heal without being in pain – everyone wins!) 🙂
